Beef Stew

Flour and season beef chunks. I put flour, salt, and pepper in a brown paper bag or ziploc bag. Brown beef chunks in hot oil. Add to slow cooker.

Melt 2 beef bouillon cubes in 4 cups boiling water. Put in slow cooker. Add vegetables: onion, carrot, turnip, potatoes, peas. I add the peas at the end so the green colour is bright. Sometimes I don’t add potato so it can be served on mashed potatoes.

Thicken the broth with about 1/4 cup flour mixed with cold water to add at the end and cook until thick. I usually add a small shake of vinegar to season at the end.

Tara wanted my recipe. I really do not have exact amounts. It is more of a process or procedure.
