Butterscotch / Blonde Brownies

Melt 1/4 cup butter is sauce pan. Stir in 1 cup brown sugar until dissolved. Cool slightly. Beat in 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla. Sift, then measure 1/2 cup all-purpose flour.
